Anabelle pushed open the door of the mess hall and sat down at a table. She didn't bother to get anything for breakfast. It was far too early for her to eat. There were only a few short weeks between the end of the school year and the beginning of camp, however during those few weeks Ana had managed to rearrange her entire sleeping and eating schedule. Each day she woke up around 9 or 10 AM, and then she wouldn't eat breakfast until 11. Now at camp, Ana had to be out of bed and ready by 9 AM. So by 8 or 8:30 she was normally in the mess hall for breakfast. For the first few days however, she wouldn't be able to eat that early. Instead, she would feel hungry later on, when it was more difficult to find something to eat. Therefore, she decided to grab an apple or something for later.
Ana looked down at the table. She wondered what she looked like that morning, for she had been too tired to really try to make herself look nice. She then looked up. Her eyes glanced around the room, looking at the many familiar faces, and noticing the unfamiliar faces as well. Anabelle was a fairly shy girl, and so she did not talk to many of the other campers. Unless they approached her first (and were willing to shake her from her shy exterior), Ana kept to herself and those she already knew well. She knew who most of the campers from previous years were, although she did not know them personally. There was a small handful of others she called friends. The campers who she knew of probably only knew her as the shy twin, for her sister clearly outshined her when it came to being outgoing and friendly.

Anabelle looked up as an older boy sat down across from her. A confused expression on her face, Anabelle wondered why he would sit with her. She was not a very social person, and Ana assumed everyone else at camp knew that. Sure there were some who approached her first, but that was usually because they knew someone she was already friends with, or due to an unfortunate incident, such as Ana walking into someone. But especially this early in the morning, why would anyone choose to sit with her? Maybe it was because she looked lonely, pathetic, friendless. She was feeling a touch of each at that moment, but not too badly, for she did have friends at camp, just none who were in the mess hall while she was.
She looked at the boy, who was certainly older than her by a few years. He seemed nice enough, but Anabelle couldn't help but feel nervous. She often did when she talked so someone she did not know. She couldn't help it. She wasn't sure why exactly. But she didn't like that she got that way. She listened to him say her name. It sounded strange. She wasn't sure how he knew her name. Anabelle never expected anyone to know who she was, especially someone older than her. She often knew other campers's names, but she was quiet; being quiet allowed her to listen to others and pick up on things like names and such. But he certainly did not seem like the quiet type of person. She looked at him, and nodded in response. She managed to mumble "Yeah, my name is Anabelle,"

he commented nonchalantly as he lowered the milk, "I'm Trevor. S'cuse my manners, probably should have introduced myself a bit earlier." he said with a laugh to try and disarm her a bit, maybe put her at ease. Trevor absolutely hated it when people were uncomfortable around him, no matter what the reason.[/blockquote][/ul]
